[14.04.2008 20:58] Socialists Nominate Semenyuk-Samsonenko for PresidentThe Ukrainian socialist party has nominated Valentyna Semenyuk-Samsonenko as its candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, according to an UNIAN correspondent. Ms. Semenyuk-Samsonenko was nominated by secret ballot during the party’s April 12 convention. She beat out her competitor, Stansilav Nikolayenko, by a vote of 128 to 117. Semenyuk plans to establish her headquarters and then begin campaigning throughout the regions.
